Jackal and Ferril on Coco! Any changes?

Any changes with Jackal on Ginger?

Jackal is... cautiously unsure? He wants to like Coco because she's nice but he has his own self-imposed limits when it comes to talking to anyone on Teal because— well. HE... WAS A CELESTE... and while he is more willing to talk to people now that he's a Sage, he's just. Really cautious and unsure. :( And he knows that Coco died 'cause of a decision Celeste made in the trust/betrayal game and at that point in time he was on Celeste, so. He likes her and wants to like her but there are a lot of self-imposed limits that prevent the relationship from going anywhere beyond what it is. HE WOULD REALLY LIKE TO BE HER FRIEND, THOUGH. As a general rule he does like Teal. He also doesn't understand why Coco is nice to him because he was on Celeste once. '^' People being nice to him and not ridiculously cautious and suspicious is something weird that he doesn't entirely get.

Ferril feels so bad over what happened to Teal in the GM game. Like holy shit Teal, your life is suffering?? If she had been able to she would've transferred over enough of Iris's orbs to level Teal out to zero but that was completely impossible. Aside from that, Coco is kind of like an older sister to her. She lovessss Coco and wants to be her friend forever. She really wants to find out a way to help Coco out outside of games like Coco's helped her with cooking too, but she's not sure what to do because she doesn't really have a lot of domestic skills. She can fight and she can do the music thing?? That's... about it... BUT ONE DAY SHE WILL FIND SOMETHING OUT AND THEN GO TO COCO and excitedly be like ;w; coco coco I learned how to do something that I can teach you can I do that please.

NOT REALLY, Jackal likes Ginger a lot and he feels comfortable around him. He's willing to say things to Ginger aaaaand that is basically it? HE TRUSTS HIM and while trust is a thing that everyone on Sage autogets, i-it's still a big thing because Jackal has so many giant issues with trust that the amount of people he trusts can be counted on two hands.

There aren't a lot of changes here other than Ginger having a lot more respect for Jackal! Because someone who's willing to hurt people for team safety, even if they don't want to, which. Means a lot to Ginger since in his own first trauma game his desire to live got steamrolled over by Sage back then. He sort of doesn't think of Jackal as a kid? Even though he realizes Jackal apparently is one whoops. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE and Ginger likes that a lot!

Do you have any plans for Jackal?

Coco thinks that Jackal dislikes her. SHE WILL PROBABLY STILL APPROACH because she really does like him and want to be his friend! But there is always this shadow of doubt in the back of her mind and that makes her sad. Whether he was on Celeste on Sage never really mattered to her, outside of . . . hoping that Sage/Sage's playing style is better for his mental health. LIKE . . . Celeste and Teal does have history, what with her knowing that they outright murdered her/her team twice, but Teal has also contributed a little to that and she tries to see people as PEOPLE (as opposed to just their team) so. She held no grudges towards Jackal and just wants him to be happy.

Coco adores Ferril like a little sister-thing. FERRIL IS SUPER EARNEST AND TRIES REALLY HARD AND AND AND ;A; oh cutie let me hug you forever. There is pretty much nothing that could ever happen that would make Coco not want to be Ferril's friend, and she will always try to help her if she can. Iris as a whole is kind of honorary team to Coco, too, so that's also a thing. S-She still feels crushingly guilty that she consciously made the decision to play against Iris, but she feels a little better now that she knows they forgive her.

Apple Apple Apple you are one of the things keeping him steady in Deco! He has like&mdashtwo full on rocks (Shark, Apple) and two that are kind of partially there (Mint, Ivy). He loves Apple to pieces and he trusts her...? But it's also a little rocky in games because he totally understands her not wanting to hurt anyone. He doesn't, either! I-It's like the last thing that he wants to do. The only thing is, he is willing to attack other teams to stay alive because he's completely terrified of dying even if you're brought back to life in Deco. AND SO HE IS WORRIED ABOUT THE NEXT BAD GAME because he knows Apple is going to Apple but what happens if we end up killing ourselves. ;A; Also god he feels terrible over being part of the reason Apple flounced and HE HAD SO MANY FEELINGS OVER THAT 'cause his ability to cope went downhill really fast without... her around... wow that is totally healthy isn't it. Basically Jackal does not even know what to do with himself and his feelings when Apple isn't around. He feels awful over being part of the reason she left even if he doesn't necessarily regret his actions.;A; Please don't be mad at me Apple. He was also completely serious about his lack of importance to her and that that is what it feels like to him. SHE IS SO IMPORTANT TO HIM that it breaks how he copes when she isn't around.

GENERALLY... CAuTIOUSLY... POSITIVE...? He's still a bit wary 'cause Cleo was really suspicious over a lot of what he did because of Celeste and that colors a lot of his actions with a lot of people still currently since WHILE MOST PEOPLE DIDN'T SAY IT OUTRIGHT LIKE CLEO DID. . . Cleo brought it to his attention and made him so ridiculously unsure when it comes to interacting with people off of Celeste and Sage even if he's trying.

Jackal -> Ivy
Ivy is in the process of becoming one of his points of stability. He trusts her a lot and while she is gonna Paru that doesn't really change his opinion because it's obvious she does like him and that in itself is such a good thing for him. WOULD FLOP ALL OVER IF SHE WOULD LET HIM, that is definitely a thing. I've already told most of you this in IRC though SO I KNOW YOU ALREADY KNOW A LOT OF THE DETAILS WITH THIS RELATIONSHIP SPECIFICALLY. It's just a good one for him in general. Also, he is really protective of Ivy and if they had been killed he would've. Tried to bargain and say HEY JUST KILL ME DON'T KILL IVY :(

Ferril -> Ivy
She is nice but she gives her vague feelings of, THIS PERSON... SEEMS REALLY FAMILIAR WITH ME SOMEHOW...? But she doesn't really think much on that. But there are vague feelings there and it's kind of weird even if Ivy is ultimately a really nice person in her opinion.

Knives is so much better than what she used to be for him. /)'w'(\ He actually actively considers her a friend now and while he doesn't necessarily trust her 'cause of his issues with trust he would totally hang out with her and eat weird things and stuff. SHE IS A GOOD FRIEND OF HIS and as time goes on she's slowly edging her way into trust even if it's. A really slow process. It's getting there. '-'

SHE FEELS TERRIBLE, especially with how Iris wound up with so many orbs when they... didn't need to play as hard as they did at all in that case. I mean, she's glad they didn't get hit hard? But at the same time it's like, "no but we played so hard though???" She has such a hard time with Iris playing like they do even though she is also like but I want to live. So! Post-GM she has been coping by trying to help Teal (jfc Teal) and playing music everywhere and just generally trying to put the game out of her mind a little and move on because it was so bad. :(

How's Kit doing post-GM?

Nia is so deredere for Turq. She would punch anything in the face for them! A-And also Echo dying specifically terrified her. Legit, her biggest fear and one of her only ones is Turq getting hurt or dying and then both of those things happened in Jabberquest. It's kind of terrifying!? And she felt like she failed a bit as a leader because those were things she was trying to avoid happening and... then there was no way to avoid that happening. :( She got so angry over those things happening too even though she was completely terrified because— her team, her babies, no. And that ended up triggering how angry she got 'cause she's a mamabear for her team. She loves them all so much. So much that she was just fed up and throwing out hotblooded answers because that is how she truly felt about the situation in Jabberquest. H-Huff.

As for Naoto specifically: At this point in time she just wants to smother Naoto in dere and love 'cause she knows something is wrong and she hates seeing Naoto so sad. I-It's partially why she was gonna talk to Kazuki but now Echo is having a talk with her over things that've happened, but. Either way, her opinion of Kazuki has kind of tanked 'cause she's... not okay with people treating other people like that just from what she's heard from the situation. It's especially not okay because Naoto was one of the people involved. :T;; She's especially protective over Naoto on Turq, too— I MEAN SHE IS PROTECTIVE OVER EVERYONE BUT THERE IS JUST SOMETHING ABOUT NAOTO that makes her feel especially protective of him.

How's Tavros feel about the whole move to Camelot?

Awful. :'D

Basically everything about it goes against her beliefs as a magical girl! So it kind of kills her inside a little every time they make a really hard decision, because she doesn't take any of the decisions Iris makes lightly (although none of them do because Iris is a team that plays hard and then feels really goddamn bad later). She wants to survive and she wants her team to survive so she kind of pushes her feelings down for what's better for the team, but. There is a lot of conflict between WHAT SHE BELIEVES IN and WHAT IRIS WANTS TO DO and while her team got her to think that maybe, just maybe, Hibiki and Kanade would take her back, she's still really unsure because what if Hibiki and Kanade don't take her back?? She can tell she was really lonely in a lot of her memories so the thought of this is kind fo terrifying for her. ;w; But she doesn't want to put her team at risk because of how she would prefer to play so.

LET'S... SHOVE THAT DOWN...

How does Coco feel about Teal pretty much being one of Deco's punching bags...

Not really, aside from still rebuilding him a little since Celeste broke him down so badly. Also, he will be the mediator for Sage even if it kills him 'cause he knows he is probably one of the few people that can mediate.

ANY PLANS FOR GINGER?

Cleo -> Jackal is a weird thing. She's glad he's not on Team Asshole anymore, but at the same time, no you should never turn your back on your team! She is so very goddamn conflicted on how to feel about this.

On the whole, though, Team Shenanigans aside, she thinks Jackal is a good kid who really shouldn't be here because no you just are not suited to this. She never really distrusted him so much as she thought Celeste might put him up to doing some shitty things, so now that he's not on Celeste, she has no problems with him, really.

Paru -> Jackal is weird. She actually likes him, he's got a sense of humor and isn't above making fun of himself, he's not constantly rejecting her dumb shit but he pushes back just enough to keep it interesting, and he's still passive enough to let her maintain her control of the conversations mostly. So she appreciates all of these things a lot. She's not quite as dependent on him as he is on her though! Though if he had tried that ONLY KILL ME thing she would have been mad.

Paru -> Ferril is...

He is glad to be out of Wonderland 'cause he really doesn't like Wonderland even if he's really... impressed?? With how Wonderland ended. BUT HE IS ALSO NOT GLAD because jesus christ it's cold and he is not built to take the cold. He spent the first few hours of Camelot in the great hall wrapped up in blankets and fur and in front of a fire and cuddling with people in an attempt to stay warm.

And then he went and had a fight with John in a snowbank and now he hates everything because he got sick from it.

A good thing though is that they got to design their own winter stuff and also that they got to design their own cabins to a point? So that is also something.

SO AS OF THIS POINT IN TIME it is a very mixed thing that is generally leaning towards 'glad' even if at this point in time he's like BUT I HATE THE COLD.

What about Kit? :O Does he like Camelot at all, will he miss Wonderland, etc?

KIT LIKED WONDERLAND 8( He was one of the few people, I think, who found its whimsy charming and he enjoyed his time there, even though it was so. Backwards. So he'll miss Wonderland a lot! But he can already see for himself how dire of a shape Camelot is in now so he's committed to doing his best to restore the realm, and I think he'll warm u to Camelot pretty quickly, despite the snow.

He also has a lot of feels about how Wonderland ended but that is a whole different essay and it is something FAR TOO LONG for me to write out right now sob but if you want me to go into detail there I will. Try! But probably not right at the moment :'D

How's Nia handling LEADERSHIP with Turq?

HE WOULD'VE ONLY IF THAT WERE A THING 'cause he knows that Paru doesn't want to die and while he is terrified as fuck of dying he... already has three deaths... 8( And Paru doesn't have any (as far as he knows). Also, Jackal is super dependent on anyone that's nice to him and seems to care about his wellbeing and he realizes that not everyone is going to feel the same way. /o/;;

IN GENERAL HE IS IN A BAD PLACE, he is coping fine but he's still beating himself up over GM decisions even if he doesn't necessarily regret what they did even if he regrets doing something that made a teammate abandon ship for awhile? He is also terrified for his safety and Sage's safety after the Cardinal Incident. 8( But he doesn't know what to do for everyone else 'cause while he knows he has the option of sleeping in Celeste the other Sage's don't exactly have that option and he isn't sure how willing most of them would be to sleep in Celeste anyway (he's only willing to do it if it's in Panther or Shark's rooms).

Also he is having issues with trust because it all kind of got thrown in his face during GM but LET'S NOT THINK ABOUT THAT I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT THAT. it makes him sad to think that he is so incapable of trusting others and he's jealous of the people that don't have those problems.

Now that GM is done though and some of the most pressing issues have been more-or-less solved he is going to just. Focus a lot on trying to help Sage be more self-sufficient somehow. It's something productive for him to focus on.

How is Paru doing post-GM?

Basically, she's in denial. The whole "you can die at any time on the whims of the portraits" message is not something she is equipped to handle, so she's just ignoring it. She's still really mad at Apple, too, because no we were right!

God I don't have much to say here I haven't already said. She's recovering a bit, though, because she feels useful now that she can gather food/cook/ACTUALLY MAKE LOGICAL CHOICES, which is helping her! So being helpful is helping. On the other hand, she's a bit worried the others can't do much, since... apple flounced, the rest of us have no real skills.... Though now that Tavros has first aid and wants to help hunt that's being alleviated slightly.

So what portraits does Tavros like?

Wait and see if he becomes Sage's actual adult! Which he literally is but he doesn't know that. GONNA TRY TO HELP PULL THIS TEAM THOUGH BAD SHIT. He's. Kind of unsure how to feel about being the potentially most dickish Sage member) not that this ultimately means much since. Sage...)

I also hope for him to feel closer to Sage eventually! He's protective of Sage largely on principle, tbh.

Knives likes Jackal a lot! She thought he didn't really like her at first, but she's pretty much gotten over that. She was always a liiittle wary of getting too close to him because he was on Celeste, but now that he's on Sage she's like "whatever man" because Sage is a Safe Team. Especially because Cider's gone now, she's looking for kids her age to hang out with, and Jackal just happens to be her age, so she's def planning on dragging him around and making him get up to shenanigans with her in the future. APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE.

FEELINGS ARE SO HARD TO WRITE there are a lot of feelings though okay.

Apple -> Valerian
(Because she’s gonna try to make a point of calling him Valerian now. Or maybe she will just call him Val but that sounds like a girl’s name, idk.) APPLE AND FEELINGS ARE HARD, she internalizes a lot of things and unless I decided to just bracket entire chunks of internal thought and monologue a lot of it doesn’t touch her surface conversation. BUT SHE LOVES HIM SO MUCH, he is really one of her rocks just as much as he is hers. She wouldn’t know what to do without him. It comes through more in actions, when she’s willing to hold his hand or hug him without hesitation. Physical affection is something she actually has to think about most of the time but it developed into a natural reaction with him. And him being on Sage is...really good overall but she recognizes the problems too. The face that he chose to be on Sage and she had a choice about picking a teammate as opposed to one just being forced on her made a big impact! But...she is willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of other teams and in order to protect as many people as possible (that includes Sage but it is harder to protect Sage by default of not attacking other teams), and not all of Sage is okay with that. SHE IS STILL MAD but she is way angrier at the rest of the team than him, because even if she didn’t agree she felt like he was at least being reasonable. EVERYONE ELSE WASN’T. A-and staying mad at him is hard anyways because she doesn’t want to be mad at him she just wants to curl up in a pillow pile with him and love him shhhhh ;; She was pissed hearing that they attacked Cardinal, especially when she got to sit through Obi reviving in her arms :’) But she was Very Not Okay with anyone threatening Valerian which was her main reason for being like OKAY NOT STANDING FOR THAT I WILL BE RIGHT BACK. It...is very hard to be mad at someone you are very protective over ;A; “I don’t want him to be upset or hurt or scared but me being mad at him is making him upset and hurt and scared WHAT DO?!?!?!” Her issues on how Sage plays are a whole different thing but basically she c-can’t stay mad at him no matter what he does because she needs him too and part of how she copes is by comforting and protecting him and reconciling that with how she chooses to play is a challenge to say the least. But it does not change that she loves him forever and if he was ever taken away she would just turn into a sad depressed lump of inaction forever.

Apple -> Tavros
Tavros has always been cool, I still remember she first thought he was a fairy and was like OMG A FAIRY and then they were healer bros and yes //// They always do fun things together and she wants to look out for his wellbeing and teach him all the things about being a pharmacist. She feels horrible for letting him die when he was right there the whole time and she should have noticed and over 9000 issues of survivor’s guilt and being unable to help. D’: And then he was feeling bad so she gave him her good luck charm to make him feel better because no it is not your fault for dying it is Jabberwock’s fault for being a dick and maybe a little of my fault for not being able to save you 8( She also identifies with him pushing himself too far in help because that is exactly what she does, it is something she can relate to OOPS. And she can't help but respect him and admire him for that even though she is also like "NO DON'T BE LIKE ME THAT'S UNHEALTHY." IT’S OKAY TAVROS I WILL PROTECT YOU FOREVER AND WE WILL BE BFFS ALWAYS
